COD4 Walls (Part 1)

The other day I casually picked up my copy of COD4 and decided to set the difficulty level to veteran and give things a try. Since then, I have become utterly obsessed with finishing this game on veteran and have made some pretty good progress, but I thought it might be kind of fun to write about the walls that I encounter along the way. For your benefit, I define a wall as any point in a game that causes extreme and excessive frustration bordering on insanity.

Fortunately, I've only hit one place thus far that I would call a legitimate wall. There have definitely been a few frustrating spots, but the only wall thus far was in the news room in the level "Charlie Don't Surf." The frustration began when I made it to this point one night, decided to wait to beat, but simply turned of my xbox w/o saving. The next day I awoke to the horror of having lost all of my progress on the level. After slogging my way back through the streets of the middle east, I finally made it back to the newsroom and was firly stuck for at least 45 minutes to an hour. This is an extremely difficult run with snipers, rpg's and seemingly omniscient soldiers finding you even from behind cover. Fortunately, I made it through w/o throwing my controller through the TV, although I came close, and have now made it through the rest of Act 1.

As I move forward from here, my greatest fear is coming up in "One Shot", which I have it on good authority is one of the most difficult levels ever...although I don't think anything can compare to "The Silo" in Call of Duty 2. I nearly lost my sanctification on that one.
